Hi

When I try to use Sonarworks Reference 3 acoustic measurement application I can't do it because of the feedback that happens when the sweep-sound comes out of my speakers. The problem is due to the knobs MAIN and MIXER because they depend on each other. So I can't get rid of the incoming signal because I need to here the sweep-sound.

My speakers go to main out 1 and 2.

The measurement microphone on input 3.

The problem is that when i try to set the correct amount of gain the feedback starts witch is abviouse.

How can I here the Sonarworks sweep sound and at the same time use the mic to measure that sound using m FP10? The MAIN knob and the MIXER knob forces me to here the zero latenzy output and the sweep at the same time causing the feedback sound.

Is there a way to mute the sound the mic picks up, so it won't come out of the speakers, but yet still measure what's coming in.

I'm on windows 8.1 but managed to make the FP10 driver work using the XP compatibility option. There are sadly no mute options on the driver panel as far as I see.

What are the possibilities? Please help!

Thanks a lot!

The Mix Dial dictates what is hear from the Headphone Output, Main Outs and the Cue outs.

This should not effect what is recorded/analyzed in software.  You can turn the Mix Dial all the way to the RIGHT to Playback.  Then mute input audio or turn OFF input monitoring in Sonar.

I can't speak to the analysis software you mentioned, but if it works as a insert or plugin effect, you should be able to do the above without feedback.

Additionally, you assign the Sonarworks sweep sound to OutPut channels 3 and 4.  This way you can set the Mix Dial to whatever and record to any input.  However, you may still need to disable input/direct monitoring in Sonar to avoid feedback.
