I just got an Audiobox USB and have been trying to use it with Garageband on my MacBook Air, which just got updated to Sierra 10.12. I'm having trouble figuring out how to hear myself (electric guitar) through my headphones. I had it working at one point but don't know what I was doing and now I seem to be missing a step or something. When I go into Garageband and create a new track I set both input and output to Audiobox USB in preferences. Then when I try to hear through my headphones I get a faint distorted sound when the mixer is set all the way to "Input" and all the way to "Playback". When it's at the 12 o'clock position, I can hear the guitar but it's really quiet and distorts if I try to turn up the headphones or main.

What am I missing?

If you do not already have it installed, download and install Universal Control 1.8.3 https://pae-web.presonusmusic.com/downloads/products/dmg/PreSonus_Universal_Control-40882.dmg

Once installed, open the Universal Control application and if prompted there is a firmware update available, accept and install.

Please follow the steps in the article below to troubleshoot setup, playback and recording with your AudioBox.
