Question

I use Ableton with the Audiobox iOne and would like to hook up my midi keyboard to Ableton. Is it possible to connect the midi keyboard to the iOne using the USB slot labelled 'device'. I did try this but abeton and my Mac didn't see the keyboard so maybe i'm missing a step?

My keyboard is a Radium 49 key device with both usb and midi connectors. I was previously able to connect it to my firepod with the midi cable and Ableton could see it and everything worked great. Sadly, after updating my Mac OS the Firepod no longer works with my Mac which is why I bought the iOne (to get me through a quick project).

Am I wrong in my understanding of the 'Device' USB slot? is it just for daisy chaining multiple ione boxes? I also tried connecting the keyboard directly to the Mac (osx 10.6.8) but it still didn't show up in Ableton or my 'audio midi setup'.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I understand that this is not a forum for ableton support but it'd be great to know if what i'm asking is even possible regardless of DAW.

With the iOne your Radium will need to connect directly to the computer with its built in USB MIDI.

The AudioBox iOne Device Port lets you use an Apple-compatible 30-pin or Lightning-to-USB cable to connect your AudioBox to an iPad when recording and playing back from audio applications. (We recommend using the cable included with the iPad, as results may
vary with non-Apple cables.) See iOS Devices for minimum system requirements.

To set up in a DAW, for the audio engine choose the AudioBox ASIO driver, and for MIDI choose the Radium port.
