Can I use my RM16AI as I/O for Pro Tools 12.x without Universal Control active (and it's mixer)?

Further, is it possible w/o the ethernet LAN interface, i.e.,using only 2 11394b 800 connections? Will using both 1394b ports offer more performance than using 1?

I've tried this w/o ethernet (UC) but can not get audible playback via the Presonus Central Control unit. It records and I can see signal levels on PT outputs, but no sound.

In other words, can the RM16AI be used as a FW800 ADA unit less UC and its mixer?

UC Surface may be needed to control some functions of the mixer itself.

No output from Pro Tools is likely just a operational error, as you haven't setup your DAW Returns properly.
