I'm recording with Capture on my Mac via AVB, but when recording this way, Capture does not sync to the mixer for things like Digital Return switching, Channel Name Sync, Virtual Sound Check automation, etc. Why is that?

Capture Sync features are only available when a StudioLive mixer is selected as the audio device. With the release of Universal Control 2.0, this happens automatically via a background service for any StudioLive AI or Series III mixer connected via Firewire or USB. Prior to the background service, there was a section in Capture under the Audio Device selection which showed "Mixer on the Network" and you could choose which to sync to.

When using AVB however, even though the selection in Capture says "StudioLive 32:Audio Unit 0", what you're technically using as the audio device is the Mac's AVB connection over the ethernet connection to the AVB device "Studiolive 32:Audio Unit 0". Until Capture is updated to be aware of that, it doesn't consider "StudioLive 32:Audio Unit 0" to be a "StudioLive mixer", and thus the hardware service doesn't identify it as such, and likewise Capture doesn't give an option for Capture Sync.

So for now, until it's updated accordingly, Capture recording via AVB means no Capture Sync features.
