I realize u would like a rundown of my computer specs-however, I've been using Studio One on Windows 10 for two years and have never had any glitches or issues, I don't think it's my computer.

Celemony Melodyne updated the other night and this is the only change that has been made since this nightmare initiated.

When I begin playback on a song, it may play a few bars, then I hear a skipping sound-much like a damaged CD and subsequently, the software freezes.  My only method of closing S1 once this occurs, is to use the Task Manager.

I've perused the forums, have not found this specific issue-if I've overlooked it, I apologize, but I spent the entire night awake seeking answers.  This software is my therapy and serenity.  I called Sweetwater Sound for advice & one option suggested was to reinstall the software...If I must do that, I'd appreciate guidance so I don't delete my work, nor accidentally have two copies of the program on my computer.

Sorry to hear about the recent issues you have been experiencing.

Here are the general troubleshooting steps for this issue:

1. Please make sure Windows is optimized: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/

2. Set Options > Audio Setup > Processing > Dropout Protection to Maximum. This is a new feature that is very powerful. I recommend reading up on DropOut Protection in the Studio One Reference Manual.

3. If you open the performance monitor in Studio One, you can view the resources that are being used by each of your plug-ins. See if you can find a particular plug-in or set of plug-ins that might be causing the issue.

In case none of that helps, and because going through official support will be needed to dig deeper into the issue, please create a support ticket.

This happened to me.

The solution was that one of my plugins was a demo, and it does that so you buy the full version.

Super annoying, just delete it.

If that doesnt work then it is likely your cpu usage is too high. Raise the sample rate on your audio device and put the latency monitoring to maximum.

You can also trim your song down, add busses instead of multiple effects chains. Having the analog emulation turned on with certain plugins can take up a lot of cpu.
