I'm using the latest version of Studio One Artist. When I'm mixing, I use JRiver as the audio source. Once I output the stems, I click on the file and listen to the .mp3 using JRiver. Then, I go back to Studio One and try to play the next track, but it won't produce any sound. Essentially, by playing a song file (the .mp3 I made, or any other file outside of Studio one) in JRiver, it somehow disconnects JRiver from Studio One.
When I start Studio One and JRiver, I get an 'lpc' file in my playing now list. Obviously, when I play a .mp3, I then get the .mp3 name in the playing now list, but the lpc file is still there as previously played file. I assumed it was some sort of link. I've tried clicking on it but it errors out. So, I'm not sure if this is a Studio One, JRiver or Windows audio problem, but it would seem like if Studio One has JRiver as the output source, it would just be able to work anytime something is played. So far, the only way I know how to fix it is to go to Audio I/O set up, choose some other audio device, click the try again button when it fails, then select JRiver again. That does some sort of 'reconnect' and then I can listen to songs played in Studio One.
Any idea how to do this better? Is it a Studio One, JRiver or Windows issue? Any help greatly appreciated.
