One thing that I love that popular competitive DAW's like Ableton, Protools, and several others have is the ability to drag an audio or midi part to loop a specified portion of a song at user's request. This can easily be done by duplicating, but its a much more streamlined approach to loop a region by dragging to a specific point, especially if the user of choice doesn't need the entire region they intend to duplicate. It also cuts down on the workflow when arranging, specifically when adding drops or comping.
