I the previous answer it is stated that the 1818VSL can't be used as a stand-alone preamp/mixer because it is a USB device.
What does that have to do with anything? The Studio 192 is a USB device that has a Stand Alone mode selector in Universal Control that allows you to use it as a DAC or a Preamp.

The AudioBox 1818VSL is a host based mixing solution requiring a computer connection. What you are asking for is a stand a lone mixing solution, please see our StudioLive mixer series solutions such as the SL1602, or 16.4.2AI which will meet your requirements. The 1818VSL is not designed to be a standalone preamp. While it can accept a clock signal and slave to another device via BNC/ADAT, we can only support this if the device it is slaving to is not connected to the computer and is a standalone clock generator.
