i've got a windows 7 N version and i think that is the problem but still wanted to ask you guys for a proper answer to this problem.

tried reinstalling Universtal controler but this did not help.

You need to make sure you have SP1 installed and at least your Windows Platform update.

See this article for more information. It is written for Studio One customers, however it applies to UC as well.
