When I play .song files through the Audiobox USB 96: headphone jack left ear only--plug into left main, left ear only--plug into right main, left ear only. Maybe we could make a movie! "My Left Ear."
I'm using Labtec LT-835 phones, they work normally on other devices and when plugged into the compter's audio jack, Studio 1 3 Artist mixdowns play like normal stereo through the phones. When plugging the phones into the mains it sounds like one stereo channel but when plugged into the headphone jack it sounds fuller, like a stereo mix coming from one speaker.
I tried a pair of Sony headphones designed for cell phones, same result.
I could be convinced that this is a jack compatibility problem--the phones have a three wire3.5 mm plug I'm running into a 3 wire 1/4" phone plug adapter. Does the adapter and/or headphone have to be a 2 wire jack? I'd had issues with this on some other stuff a long time ago.
For future reference a 3.5 mm jack in addition to the 1/4" jack would be nice. After all, 3.5 is the standard these days. :)
I can still record stuff and play say a guitar track while recording a vocal track but it would be nice to hear both--if that's the way it's designed, and it should be, then that's the way it should work, you know?
