Question

How do I open a new track? The Help file says to press T, which gives me an error message, or navigate to Tracks/Add Track, and I have no idea how to navigate to Tracks/Add Track.

Never mind. I went back to ver 2, which works. I'm actually better off with Audacity. It's free, it works, and there is more support.
