Recently bought a new mic and plugged it in to test it out. Studio One 4 is my go to for recording, so I opened it up, but theres a buzz (goes all the way up to 0db) and it barely picks up the sound of my voice. Tried recording on Adobe Audition and the build in Windows Sound Recorder and the mic is working fine, so it's just Studio One 4. Any way to fix this?

Is this a USB mic? Are you going through an interface?

Its a condenser mic that uses an XLR to 3.5mm audio jack cable.

Edit: it seems that using an audio interface gets rid of the buzzing so I can properly hear what's being recorded...don't know what happened to the XLR to 3.5mm cable, since other programs can still pick up the sound perfectly fine.
