In Ableton Live, setting the Faderport 2018 up according to the owner's manual and updating to the latest firmware, I get the follow behaviours which are different than those described in the user manual.

- Scroll function actually zooms both on the encoder knob (horizontal) and navigation buttons (vertical).

- Pressing Shift then the Scroll/Zoom button does not change button colour or functionality of the Scroll/Zoom button. It still just zooms.

- The Click button appears to do nothing

- The Section button does not highlight when pressed and appears to do nothing.

Specs:

FaderPort (2018)
Firmware: v3.03

Ableton Live Suite v9.7.7

Macbook Pro
macOS Sierra v10.12.6
2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Hi, the way that Ableton Live uses the Mackie protocol is different than other applications.

"Click" is not currently a function in Live's MCU implementation so the button has no function. Shift+ Click (or any function button) will give you a MIDI Note message that can be assigned to turn the metronome on or off in Live.

While a very basic "Scroll" can exist in Live's MCU implementation, in the end it doesn't function as it does in other applications so the button on the FaderPort is Zoom only.

The "Section" button is assigned to "Back to Arrangement" as there is currently no "Section" functionality in Live's MCU implementation.

Thanks for the heads up on the manual. We will update it accordingly.
