It would be great to have a plus/minus button or some other feature visible at all times in the score to hide or show staves without going into score setup to change the visibility setting.

Agreed. Good suggestion.

I like Finale's system in this regard where you can create various staff sets and switch easily between them.

I've added here my original request for something similar:

I like the idea of having a show/hide icon per staff on the score view. Another possibility would be to add a section view to the Dynamic parts menu.

When working with larger scores/arrangements it would be really useful to quickly display only a certain section e.g "brass", "Strings" etc.

Re-organising the Dynamic parts menu into three sections: "Full", a list of Sections with an "All instruments" entry at the bottom. This would be especially useful when working on specific section - just select "Strings" and only the string parts would be displayed.

A bonus would be to have a "Solo" button that would mute the audio from all the other parts, making it easier to work on the current section.

I'd prefer it to be a left-side pane you could hide/show... and in that pane have instruments (perhaps grouped by barline groups?) that you can hide individually OR hide groups (hide strings, brass, perc. and focus on woodwinds).

And if your view is set to "continuous" mode, it should remember where you are!!

That would make workflow 10,000x easier just with just these 2 navigation changes alone. :)
