Slice and Rearrange Midi Loops - Macro?

HI Guys,

I apologise if this has been asked before - I have searched the forum and I have not found quite what I am looking for...

I have these funky bass midi loops and they work very well with a particular synth preset ("Gaw Bass" in Arturia Mod3, in case you are interested).

What I want to do is mangle the loops, audition thew output and save anything I like quickly and easily. Sounds easy? Well here are my provisos...

1. I want to stay in the midi realm - not audio - this is because the synth is very reactive to different note lengths, midi note overlays, glide/legato etc. So I want to play back using midi to the synth and retain al that funky interactivity.

2. I want to slice at BAR points and their subdivisions (1/2, 1/4 etc.) NOT the note points. This is because these midi loops have a lot of groove and feel and I do not want to straighten them out by mapping notes to a grid.

3. I want this to be quick and easy. I could do all the above myself by cutting up the midi loop in S1 and then rearranging the pieces - but this is slow. I want it to be fast, so I can audition repeatedly and quickly until I hear something I like

4. I want to be able to keep and use the newly made midi loop as a midi loop so I can add my own touches in the MIDI realm.

Can this be done in S1, perhaps with a macro?

Equally, does anyone know of a plugin that will do this. I stress the above three points, especially I do not want to do this in the audio realm. I want midi in and  midi out.

I use Studio One Pro 4 (64) in Windows 10 in case that matters.

Thanks Ahead to anyone who knows

Best Regards

Adrian
