Hi, I am a new convert to Studio One 4 from Reaper but struggling to work out what I imagine is a simple problem. I have a Roland TD3 drum module connected, via a MIDI cable, to a Quantum interface. I want to load Native Instruments Abbey Road in Studio One  then have the VST drums triggered by the TD3 using MIDI. This works in Reaper, so I know the connections are fine, but I cannot work out how to set this up in Studio One.

MIDI is being received by Studio One from the TD3 according to the MIDI monitor but I cannot work out how to direct this to the VST. To be clear, I have set up other MIDI controllers via USB and got them to control VST Instruments in Studio One so am generally familiar with how to do this, but I cannot work out how to  set up the Quantum MIDI port in order to control the VST instrument.

Apologies if this is an obvious question but I would be grateful for any advice.

Many thanks.

Edit - many thanks Matthew Coombs for the suggestions, which solved the problem.

Hi. Sorry to be obvious, but have you created a MIDI keyboard device for the TD3? Even though you have clearly set up the Quantum correctly, you still need to set up another keybord device for the MIDI in. You can do this under Options/External Devices, choose Add and create a new 'Keyboard' called TD3 with the Quantum's MIDI in and out assigned to it. M

In retrospect, this explains it better than I did! :
