I'm using Kontakt as the most importnat VST instrument rack in my midi projects. Each Kontat instance hold betweeen 3 and 12 individual instruments. Each of them is using a dedicate midi channel.

I can access the individual instrument and create a dedicated track for it. BUT I am not able to see the individual instruments in the mixer. Only the Kontak as a whole is displayed there.

Is this possible in Studio One? I need to adjust panning, volume etc. to the individual instrument in the mixer console view.

Or do I really use a different DAW?

Any help is highly appreciated.

See what I mean in the following screen shots:

Two Kontakt racks with individual instruments and individual midi channels

And as you can see there are the individual tracks in the track view

But only the plug-in itself, the whole Kontakt as one instrument can be seen in the mixer console instead of the individual instrument. Very strange

You need to activate the different outputs in Kontakt or only one output will show. I think it's a little arrow pointing right (maybe left) at the top of the plugin (I'm doing this from memory so click on both and you will find it) tick which output you want to activate and then sent ea h instrument in kontakt to a seperse output. That should solve your problem . Kurt

They dont like us using ni products. Its the WORST thing about presonus by far. They seem to refuse to provide any functionality to help integrate ni into s1 . its extremely frustrating.

Hi Kurt,

it's not your fault, nor do I blame you for anything. So, please don't be offended by my comment .

The problem is, that I am not sure what you are talking about. I´'ve tested several ways to get mixing console to reflect the tracks in the track view. I can't find a place in Kontakt where I can do this. And BTW the Kontakt output should be a stereo one with 2 channels only. And to be nonest, I don't think that this is something, that has to be solved on the Kontakt side.

So if you had more information for me, I would highly appreciate to hear from you.

And this question is for Presonus: Why isn't a track added to the mixing console everytime I'm adding a midid track to the track view? Why is this only done for audio tracks? This should be a 1:1 sync (plus the busses and VCA's and so on of course).

I have no clue where I should configure something in Kontakt itself. In Sonar X3 I did not have this kind of issue. But I wanted to use a more modern DAW for my projects.

@robertgrey3 If you say that my finding is not correct, please explain how to achive this. Thank you

@th23

Honestly if you type in "kontakt multiple outputs mixer studio one" into google your first video result will be this, it shows you how to do what you want in less than 2 minutes. Its a simple process if you pause it a few times to follow along and honestly it will make more sense than describing it. Rest assured it is 100% possible and I do it all the time. There's even someone in the comments section that brought up a common issue with the process (using the wrong version of the VST) and they mention how to fix it.

@bnelson748

this has nothing to do with "them" "not liking" you using Native Instruments products. The process of routing Multiple Output instruments is a simple process and there are quite a few videos on it. I posted the shortest one, you even can find a longer one where they talk about it more if you want.
