When sitting idle in a session for a while, Quantum starts crackles and playback stutters until power is cycled for the Quantum. Happens in all DAWs (StudioOne, Pro Tools, Live, Cubase, BitWig). This happens even before adding any plugins. Once the Quantum is power cycled, everything returns to normal.

Mac Pro 2013, Mojave OS latest version, Universal Control latest version.

That used to happen to me too, I posted this on the forums a while back and nobody responded that had heard the issue before

It randomly stopped happening as much, in fact I can't remember the last time it happened. /shrug

when that has happened to me - I finally noticed the correlation  of my DAW computer being on the network which receives internet data i.e. e-mail, notifications, etc.

when I disconnected the network - the random "noise" stopped - I could be wrong but it seemed to work

Surprise! Just happened to me for the first time in months.

On YouTube videos it can be observed and fast forwarding the playhead through the timeline rapidly.
