Can I stop a midi note in the piano roll from sending a "note off" event when it's finished in SO 3.5?

I'm trying to use midi to trigger scene changes in my DMX lighting controller. The problem is that the controller only wants to see "note on" commands. The "note off" command just triggers the same scene selection, which shuts all lights off. I'm using Windows 10, S1 v3.5, and an Audiobox iTwo to send midi to a Chauvet Obey 70 DMX lighting controller. The controller manual specifically says to use "note on" commands to trigger scene changes. In the midi log, I can watch every "note off" command shut off my lights. All firmware and software is up to date as well.

I created my external device as a controller. A Facebook user suggested setting it up as a keyboard and checking the box to ignore aftertouch, which I did. Now I can't assign my lighting midi track to output to it...
