Ableton + StudioLive 24R audio falters in live setup

  • MacBook Pro 16" 8 core 2,3gHz, Catalina
  • StudioLive 24R, latest firmware updated, connected to my laptop via USB
  • Universal Control latest version
I have a problem with playback from Ableton in a live setup. I use Ableton for backing track and I'm sending from Ableton to a couple of external outputs on the StudioLive.
I worked with this setup several times, but since I switched to my new laptop (which came with Catalina), I keep having issues with the StudioLive Rack. I don't have the issues with my UA Apollo Twin or Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.
First I experienced extreme amounts of midi-audio latency, and had a lot of crackling in the audio. (Tried switching buffer size, but that didn't help).
Yesterday I upgraded the firmware of the StudioLive and the crackling and latency is gone, but now my audio falters, it's like it's skipping a beat sometimes, or I'm hearing milliseconds of silence during playback. It seems to be completely random, but a big problem since I use it for live shows with a lot of backing track and have a lot of shows coming up and of course I don't want it to sound like it's a faulty CD playing. :)
Anyone knows what I can do to fix it? Or should I just wait for another firmware update?

I would download Universal Control v3.2.1.57677, run the uninstaller and re-boot the mac and then install it again and reboot the mac.

If the issue remains then please contact technical support.

I am persuaded to thing that Presonus badly damaged Capture when they updgraded to version 3.

I have the same problem that I never used to have in Capture 2.

I cannot find a way around this and Presonus are not helpful here.
