Is it possible to use TouchOSC to record modulation and expression data either live while recording or afterwards?

I would like to use TouchOSC or similar as an external fader port to record modulation and expression data on VSTi automation lanes.

1. Can it be done

2. How?

I am having trouble ma[ping the controllers in TouchOSC to the correct midi cc in S1.
