Without seeing your setup it's hard to say where your files are being routed to. If you don't already, I suggest using an external harddrive to store all of your files, and make sure every time you open a new project, you make sure it's being saved to the appropriate folder of your choice in said harddrive.
If you know what the file names are you should be able to do a search on your computer for them. If you use windows, click the search bar in the start menu and type the file name, if you are using a Mac, open a finder window and type the file name in the search bar.
