Question

Hi, In the manual it is stated that the big play pause button has 3 functions in Logic Pro x. 1. Play 2. hit it again it will play from original position again and 3. shift press play/pause button will pause playback. Faderport V2 does not do number 3. Pressing the shift key will playback from original position again.,

Note: The shift button must be pressed simultaneously (press hold) with the other buttons in order to give access to the other buttons. Is this correct?

What do I do to make the playback button pause playback and by pressing it again continue playing from the position where I paused it.

Hi, I have the same problem. Play/Pause button is not intuitive. Pressing it while playing makes the cursor to jump to beginning of the track instead of just pausing.

I'm another Faderport V2 and Logic Pro user. Try right clicking your play button in the transport bar and deselect any of the ticks. Play on Faderport V2 will now play from where you stopped. To play from start again, either press play again, or stop twice.

The Play/Pause button works differently in Logic Pro. While in Play tapping Play (Pause) again returns you to the top and starts playing again. If however you press Left Shift + Play Pause in the transport playback pauses like you would expect. Note that this doesn't work with Right Shift + Playback which returns you to the last place you started from and restarts from there. It would be handy if those shift buttons could be reprogrammed to swap places because that would make a simple pause a one handed operation instead of a two handed operation. Maybe there is a way to reassign the Shifts, will have to look into it.
