There are two ways to connect external processors to the FP10 (FirePod):

Pre-Processing/ In-line: This is done to affect 100% of your signal before the signal reaches the A/D converters and is usually reserved for dynamics processing (i.e. compressors and gates). This can only be done on channels 1 & 2 of the FP10/FirePod. Preamp Outs 1 & 2 act as Sends, and Line Inputs 1 & 2 act as Returns. Connect the Preamp Out to the external processor’s line input. Then, connect the processor’s output to the Line Input of the FP10 (FirePod).

Post-processing: This is done to affect multiple, pre-recorded signals and is usually reserved for time-based processors (i.e. reverbs & delays), but can also be utilized for dynamics processors. Connect any of the FP10 (FirePod)s line outputs to the input of your signal processor. Connect the output of your signal processor to any of the FP10 (FirePod)s line inputs. In your DAW software, you will need to route the tracks (either individually or as a group) you wish to affect to the line output your processor is connected to. You will also need to create an additional audio track for the return of the wet signal.
