Drag or Copy Layers to Tracks

There are several use cases where we may want to drag (or copy/paste) layers to new tracks. One example is where multiple vocal or guitar (for instance) takes have been recorded, the best takes comped into a master track, but the user may want to use one of those unused takes as a double. Being able to click and drag that layer into a new track solves for this.

I take back my midi pool suggestion as it seems I overlooked the layers[it's pattern mode O____O!!!!!!]

The layers tools seems to be able to do exactly that with the scratchpad[pattern editor]

Just tried it double clicking layers then dragging layers to the scratchpad does it but it'd be nice to be able to drag layers themselves.

Yep this would be handy indeed. ATM there are various workarounds but I'd love something more intuitive.
