How and What to Move to External 2TB SSD

BACKGROUND OF QUESTION

First, I am a beginner. I installed Artist 4 last September, but have not started my training yet. Last month, I purchased the upgrade to Professional, which I installed over Artist using the upgrade.  My setup is: 1) Studio 26c audio interface, 2) two PC laptop computers (both Intel i7 6th gen processors, but 3) with just one USB 3.x port & two USB 2.x ports on each, 4) a powered 3.0 7-port hub, 5) an MPK24 keyboard, 6) a Korg M50 workstation, and 7) one 1TB 3.0 SSD. 8) My focus will be on multiple acoustic guitars, vocals, and maybe keyboards later on.  I expect to have up to 10 additional plug-ins installed. That's me.

QUESTION:

1) As recommended, I want to move all relevant files and/or useful files & directories to my SSD. How do I do this & not run into problems later?

2) Exactly, which files & directories, and where to move would have the greatest efficiency & flexibility? One person told me only song files. But can/should others like plug-ins move to the SSD without having consequences?

3) I intend to install Professional on my 2nd laptop, one that I can take the hard drive with me, enabling me to hopefully move songs & projects seamlessly between the two laptops to continue working (say, at the beach - don't hate me), taking the SSD with me to resume my work, & then return home to resume my work where I left off. (I won't be surprised if I need to make sure they are the same version, and maybe all relevant plug-ins or other files on each laptop; unless the plug-ins can also be moved to the SSD). Again, I am limited to just one 3.0 USB port on each laptop. I plan on this determined configuration for a very long time between laptops to suit my environment, and want to avoid problems later on, as some online have experienced.

Thanks for listening,
//Gary
