Hello all, I recently downloaded Studio One 5 (the free version) to test it out before buying the full version. I just built a new windows pc which was a huge step up from my old 2012 macbook pro. I switched from Logic Pro X and, so far, I have found the two DAWs very similar.

For the last hour or so I've been stuck browsing the forums and the manual with no luck. I just connected my Motu 8 pre audio interface, so I had to go through setting up a new external device, which I had no issues with. I can record fine, but can't figure out how to send the output to anywhere except back to the 8 pre, which is not what I want. I tried to edit the device and I can chose to "receive from" the 8 pre but my only option for "send to" is either the "8 pre" or "none." I would assume there is a way to change the "send to" to the main output but I cannot figure out how.

If I go into audio setup, I can change my audio device from the "8 pre" to "windows audio" which then allows me to listen to the recording through my main output. Obviously it isn't reasonable to go change my audio device every time I want to playback a recording.

Any help is very much appreciated. If I didn't provide enough information please let me know.

Hi.  On Windows, you can only use one audio device at a time.  So you can't record via one device and monitor via another.  My best advice here is simply to plug your monitors into the motu main outs and run both in and out via the motu.   You could try "asio4all" as a sticking plaster but I would not recommend that.  I have seen too many issues with it.
