Most of the times the Quantum 2626 is showing a red LED. Sometimes the unit is flashing blue, sometimes it connects for a brief moment, then it drops out again after a couple of seconds, led turns red again

I'm on Mac osx Mojave 10.14.6 I've installed, uninstalled and re-installed universalControl, did the System preferences > security "Allow" thing. Did pram, nvram reset etc.

I bought an expensive Belkin 6ft 40gbps Thunderbolt 3 cable, could this be the reason I can't connect? Or any other ideas?

My 26x26 was flakey for a bit at first until I noticed that UC offered me a "firmware update" for the unit.  Once I updated the firmware the latency dropped from around 7 - 8 milliseconds to 2 ms and all other problems evaporated.  I'm running a MacBook Pro with Mojave 10.14.6.  I hope your problem is as simple as this.  --  Michael.

Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately universalControl doesn't offer me any firmware update, when I last checked it said version 1.3-28, now I can't even connect...

I heard the 0.8m cable is a better bet and has solved the issue for others. Not for me though :(

I haven't been able to connect even once with UC as far as firmware updates.

It's a new Mac Mini M1 new out of the box on OSX 11.1 and S1Pro v5.1, new Q2626, 0.8m StarTech TB3 40Gbit/s cable. Blinking blue light. Have uninstalled and reinstalled UC twice (Latest version 3.4.0.61835) with reboots. Cannot get "Allow" to show up in Settings/Privacy/General. How do I add permission manually for the OSX driver? Or UC?
