Hi there,

Looking for some suggestions on using my electronic drum set (Alesis Nitro Mesh) as a MIDI controller for Impact XT.

When using the Tom Brechtline (sp?) samples with my set I've had the following issues:

The dynamic range is very small...ghost notes are an impossibility. This is not the case when using the internal samples on the set. I haven't been able to figure out how to change the sample volumes in Impact for the snare (there are four) to create more dynamic range. Are there other adjustments that could help?

Despite turning off any instance of quantization I can find, press rolls, ruffs etc. sound kinda choppy. Again, not nearly as bad using the set samples.

Very new to this, so, is this par for the course with MIDI? Are there adjustments I could try to help even out some of these problems? I love being able to do a track and have all the parts of the kit broken out into separate channels, but the issues mentioned above are taking a lot of the fun out of playing along. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
