Hello !

The context
My computer has a 650W Corsair power supply, which is way enough for my setup :

  • Aorus B450I
  • AMD Ryzen 3400G with IGP, so no extra graphic card
  • 1x2 To HDD
  • 2x256Go SSD
  • 1 BluRay Drive

I have an AudioBox USB 96 plugged on a self powered USB hub, to remove some annoying noises.
As my computer is in the bedroom, I had to activate ErP on my Aorus B450I motherboard, because the AudioBox power light was still on after a full PC shutdown, even with the hub not being on the current. Changing the ErP parameter was fine and it worked like expected.
Note : none of my USB peripheral was ever up so far : keyboard, mouse, SoundBlaster X-Fi HD, webcam, Canon printer (self powered) and scanner. When the computer was off, everything was off too.
The AudioBox is actually the only peripheral who is always on with my computer off, which is a bit strange.

Anyway, unplugging the hub from the current and computer off, with ErP activated, works as expected : no power on AudioBox.

Now, the odd part : if I try to power on my computer with my hub not powered, then it won't start. The PC will only boot if the USB hub is powered on. Like if the Audiobox need too much current that my power supply can't give.

If someone has a clue on how to achieve a functionnal configuration...

So it's a bit complex : I had to tell my wife and the kids that they need to plug a cable prior to boot the PC. Or I had to explain to my wife that this red light should be always on...
Both cases aren't really great ! laugh

Ok, I got it.
In fact, it's not the AudioBox, it's the self powered USB hub which is the origin of all this. I'll investigate about it !
