The noise is jarring and annoying, I would prefer not to have that happening at all. Using an Audiobox 96 and presonus headphones.

You don't want audio cliipping, you get the volume of a song in the mastering stage. I would recommend turning down the track or input a bit and adding a limiter.

I understand I don't want clipping, and I know how to take care of it. I just don't want this alarm system in place that makes me want to throw my headphones off every time I just barely hit 0db, it scares the **** out of me and is way more annoying than helpful; I can tell when I'm clipping without being aurally assaulted.
