Marking and comment function in Piano Roll

I would like to suggest a feature I haven't found in any software with a piano roll.

When composing, I find that it is often desirable to make notes and markings in some specific location. Right now, we have markers and track notes. While both of them allow for extensive commentary, they are global and thus they can get really messy, slow, and unfriendly if we wish to refer to actual positions within a composition. Musical events by definition refer to specific locations. It is thus very natural to make markings and comments right on the spot. This is the reason most text readers let you comment right on the text you want. And this is the reason we don't compose using text. There is no way to make any markings in the actual space we compose in, which is distant from a more natural way, for example, composing on a sheet of paper. I suggest adding a function, an event type or an interface element that would allow us to do just that.
