Duplicating automation info not working

I’m trying to pan my hi hats right now throughout my entire song but cannot duplicate automation Info. I manually automated an 8 bar loop and now when I try to hit D for duplicate it actually subtracts automation points. I can’t copy or paste nor does duplicate work. Actually it’s quite the opposite it deletes instead of duplicate. I’m running on version 4.6.2 Mac OS x64 2020 MacBook Pro

You need to enable "Automation Follows Events":
