This seemed to start after the 5.2 update.  Just weird behavior.  When I exit the restarted instance it seems to work as expected.  Only seems to happen after the first instance after a good exit

Same here. After 5.2 update S1 restarts by itself after close.

Seems to be if the last thing done is not saved but not sure this is the only case or always the case!

Happens with several different songs with different plugins.

Based on my testing - it seems to be independent of the save.  If I go into the Win 10 Task Manager and do an End Task on Studio One it won't restart.  Only if I do the "normal" exit.  That suggests that the issue is in the Studio One exit code itself since the End Task probably doesn't run the intended "normal" exit.

In my tests, the restart occurs about 8-10 seconds after closure.  In the forum, @bruceqld called it an unCrash, so I adopted the term:

-a V4.?? file opened in V5.2 will not cause the unCrash.
-a v4.?? file opened in V5.2, then saved in V5.2 will not unCrash either.
-a v5.0 < V5.2 file opened, whether resaved or not WILL cause the unCrash.

..based on my testing of the files I had on hand. So it may be a V5.2 issue that affects V5 files prior to V5.2.

My Windows was at the version from April of last year (2004), so I upgraded it to the latest 20H2 version. It didn't change a thing with this Studio One issue. A stab in the dark would be that is somehow related to the new "safe" restart capability in V5.2, but again that's just a guess.

EDIT: at least one forum member confirmed that the unCrash can occur in originally created v5.2 files.

Anyway, 35 years of software development makes me suspicious of the new "safe restart" feature.  I have had lots of sessions with just V5.2 files and the #UnCrash still happened. But I will double-check to be sure.

Happens to me every time I close or quit. Started happening exactly when I installed 5.2.

Living with it. Otherwise everything is fine. Would be nice to have this issue resolved.

Uncrash happens to me too. Started last week, which I think was just after the latest Windows update--more recent than the S1 5.2 update? I have a Quantum 2 and both varieties of Atoms talking to S1 (via Universal Control) when it closes. Anyone else using it with Presonus hardware attached?
