Will the SL 16.0.2 work as a recording interface replacement for my classic 16.4.2 when I upgrade to a new M1 iMac?

Although my 16.4.2 does everything I need, it is no longer supported with Big Sur and the new M1 Macs. I am used to busing signals to my subs for recording into my DAW. The 16.0.2 has no subs. What would be the process to accomplish something similar with it?

I also record mixes from my DAW by playing back the tracks into my SL 16.4.2, then sending that mix back into a record enabled stereo track in the project. I basically, assign the incoming tracks to a sub, which is then seen by my DAW on the corresponding channels. Subs 1 thru 4 appear as 17 thru 20 in my DAW.

In summary, I am forced to upgrade my classic SL 16.4.2 for use with Big Sur (and new M1 Macs). Will a new USB SL 16.0.2 satisfy the requirements and give me the same basic features and functionality as my classic SL, as described in my example above?
