hi

I would like to move from using Audition as my DAW to record a radio show to, the main problem is most music files are mp3 and it takes an age for Studio one to convert to WAV upon dragging them onto a track. Is there a way to speed up the process or an option to allow me to see and work on files while the conversion takes place in the background or better still stop the conversion completely?

The time it takes to import makes it non viable to use in this fashion especially if I drag in lots of mp3 files at a time. If I use the ones that are already WAV then it works in the blink of an eye.

Thanks Terry

The process of converting from mp3 to WAV is slow, and the most likely reason is that the sampling rate in Studio One is inconsistent with the sampling rate of mp3. I used to use a sampling rate of 48000Hz for all songs in Studio One, but almost all the mp3s I use are 44100Hz, and the SRC process will be very slow. After testing, if the two sampling rates are the same, the conversion speed is fast enough.
