So really what I'm trying to do is create a project that uses both an existing template and a time/tempo map from a MIDI file, so any way to do that would be helpful. Currently, the only way I can figure out how to import time/tempo information to a MIDI file is to drag it into the arranger track, which creates a new project instead of importing the information into the one I have open. And the only way I know of for how to use a template is to select it when creating a new song. Is there any way to first create a new song using a template, and then import the time/tempo from a MIDI file into that? Alternatively, if I create a new project by dragging in the MIDI file, is there any way to import a template into that?

This workflow needs some attention by Presonus for sure. It is not intuitive and needs improving in a big way as MIDI files are still a standard way of collaborating between professionals using different apps. Please give this a look presonus!

If you drag the midi onto the tempo track instead of an instrument track I think it will do what you're looking for.
