Hello,
I think the Autosave enable option (together with the selectable timer) should be a button visible in the DAW arrangement, so maybe next to the snap button, somewhere in there. This will help us see quickly when it is enabled (highlighted) or disabled, so that we don't have to dig deep into the settings.
I would place a sort of disk icon (like in Word) 
on the left of the scratch pad or in the bottom row on the left of samplerate. When highlighted, we know the Autosave is enabled at a glance, no need to go into the settings.
P.S. Using a keyboard shortcut to enable/disable it just like the Snap function would be great and useful too.
