Currently, there is no keyboard shortcut to access the selected track's Insert 1, Insert 2, etc., as well as its Send 1, Send 2, etc. Additionally, there are no keyboard shortcuts to access the active track's first insert, last insert, next insert, or previous insert using either keyboard shortcuts or External device CC assignment within S1.  This holds true for sends as well. By adding the aforementioned keyboard shortcuts to access these items a powerful workflow could be configured using our many third party control surfaces for a much more robust workflow.

As far as goes for inserts, there is a keyboard shortcut to access the active track's first insert (Show channel editor, and for your external device: command.category="Console" command.name="Show Channel Editor").
There are also KC's for next and previous inserts when the channel editor is open (Page up/down skip, and for your external device: command.category="Devices" command.name="Previous Device in Rack" command.category="Devices" command.name="Next Device in Rack").

Thanks for you answer, Niles. You obviously have some experience with S1 and interfacing with external controllers. Unfortunately, this only helps folks that have functional knowledge modifying surface control files. What is needed within S1 is the ability to edit External devices and assign a MIDI CC to one of the aforementioned commands.

I definitely agree, we need more shortcuts related to inserts in order to create our macros.

Until now, when we use shortcuts to open VST's (please note that, FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASONS AND CHOICES, it's not possible to open VSTI's with shortcuts yet…) they does not appear in frontscreen so we can edit them straIght, we have to look Inside the insert bay in order to find them...isn't it a nonsense ?

Niles, I don't think 'Show channel editor' opens the first insert. It opens the last used insert.

Would be great if there was a key command to open a specific insert.
