Scenes in S1, albeit in a limited capacity, equate with Pro Tool's groups functionality. What our good friends at Presonus could do to get another large group of PT holdouts onboard is implement Scenes with the functionality of PT's Groups. PT offers us the ability to display and/or link tracks together in many ways. For example, in PT I can easily define a group of tracks to display in the console (mix) view and not in the edit view, or vice versa, or both. Additionally, I can optionally control their faders, pans, mutes, sends, and/or solos as a group. Moreover, in PT a track can belong to multiple groups. I understand tracks (channels) can partake in multiple scenes in S1 but they appear only able to belong to one group, which is permanently bound unless the group is dissolved. PT has a Groups List panel that allows for displaying, hiding, muting, etc. of groups that is similar in design to S1's track list where using mouse clicks on various column mini-icons can activate the desired outcome (show, hide, etc.). It would be nice to have a Scene panel that would allow us to edit the names of scenes, reconfigure their assignments, order, mute, pan, etc. as does PT. This provides a very powerful workflow in PT that I have enjoyed in their product for many years.
It goes without saying these new Scene features would need to have both keyboard shortcuts and device commands provided for us to use our various control surfaces effectively.
