Is there a way to create text ligatures for lyrics?

We would like to be able to use a ligature character to connect vowels under a single rhythmic value (note) in lyrics entry. This is common in Spanish and Italian lyrics, and occasionally appears in English lyrics. Perhaps it could be invoked with a special command when entering lyrics, e.g. (on Mac) Shift-Option-Space or something like that.

The closest I can get with my couple of hundred font faces is this: a el, using a "Math Symbol" for the ligature. (Apple Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1, high spec 2017 iMac).

Because this is not a regularly available type character in the majority of fonts, you may have to create something, of search for a special font face for lyrics.

I support this request which would be very useful for all Notion users who use it with lyrics.
I am a choral conductor and I use Notion a lot.  This functionality would be welcome as it would greatly improve the workflow as well as the appearance and clarity of our scores especially when the lyrics are in Italian, Spanish as well as French and German and English.
