Changing the NOTE length in the piano roll editor

I'd like the ability to set the default note length to something other than 1/4 note, 8th note, etc. I know I can shift-click the note and change it's length manually.  But that's a lot of shift-clicking....If instead, I shift-click a note and change it's length, that length will become the default.  Perhaps using a different key press, for example alt-shift-click, that way it would continue to work in your legacy mode.

Alternately, if the panel had a method to make minor adjustments to the default note length (like eight note - minus 10%).  Maybe a slider (similar to the controls in humanize) to let you increase/decrease the selected length.

This serves 2 purposes (for me at least):

1) to create a series of notes that slightly overlap (legato)

2) to create a series of notes that don't run together. (a little silence between)

Thanks

Yes! An easy option to paste a 1/4 note (but -10% length) would be great.  Rather than paste a note and then go back and edit it.
When playing real instruments, this is more accurate to 'real life' and feels more live, than perfect, continuous exact-length notes.
