Hi All!

I'm a total newb when it comes to making music on Linux (but I'm not a stranger to Linux itself). Basically, when I heard the news about Microsoft's Recall, that was the final straw. I decided to make Linux my permanent OS. However, before I can ditch Windows for good, I need to get my music production on Linux tip-top.

I finally managed to get Studio One working on my distro (Ubuntu Studio). So far, everything seems fine, except that Studio is not rendering plugins correctly. It's the same for both VST and VST3.

For some reason, I can't upload a screenshot - but basically, it just shows a load of knobs rather than rendering the proper GUI.

I've created a post in a different forum where I can upload photos... https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=27173&sid=975621ea3b5ff6dd36d94b46c503589f

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks.

Studio One is a native Wayland application and as such cannot display X11 based plug-in UIs.

There is currently no official support for native Wayland plug-in user interfaces in the VST3 SDK. However, plug-in vendors may use our IWaylandFrame interface to add Wayland support to their plug-ins. See https://presonus.software/en_US/blog/studio-one-6-5-for-linux

If you want your plug-in UIs to be displayed in Studio One, feel free to forward this information to your favorite plug-in vendors and ask them to implement Wayland support.
