The instructions are to verify that the files associated with the AudioBox VSL driver are completely uninstalled.  Therefore, some files may not appear upon installation.  Be sure to first remove the application and bring it to your Trash before continuing below.

OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Only
(Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks users: Please scroll down to the next section.)

NOTE: Power off or disconnect your AudioBox interface before removing the AudioBox software. If the AudioBox VSL application running then you'll need to Quit the application before proceeding.

1)  Delete the following files:

/Applications/AudioBox VSL
/Library/Application Support/PreSonus/Devices/audioboxdevice.bundle
/System/Library/Extensions/PreSonus_AudioBox_VSL.kext
/System/Library/Extensions/PreSonus_AudioBox_VSLdsp.kext
/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/PreSonus/AudioBox VSL
/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/PreSonus/AudioBox VSL(x64)
/Users/Username/Documents/Presonus/AudioboxVSL

 2) Right-Click on Finder, then select "Go To Folder" or from the Finder menus select Go > Go To Folder

 3) In the pop-up window type:    /private/var/db/receipts

 4) Click “Go”

 5) You will be taken to a hidden folder on your Mac, delete the following files:

com.presonus.pkg.AudioBoxVSL.bom
com.presonus.pkg.AudioBoxVSL.plist"

6) Empty the trash and reboot your computer.

7)  Repair Disk Permissions

Go to Applications > Utilities and open Disk Utility
Select your System drive from list on the left
Click “Repair Disk Permissions”
Shut down your Mac after the repair operation completes

 8) Reset PRAM

Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously
Turn on the computer
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. At this point, your computer should be completely zeroed out and you can reinstall.
