Audio Crash Making Studio One Unusable

I'm running Studio One 3.2.3.38191 OSX x86 on OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. Often times when I'm mixing the audio will completely and randomly become a garbled, distorted, mess and disallow me from continuing. My CPU is at normal level (though it is the same effect as when it maxes out). I suspect it may be a third party plugin, though I've gone through the process of emptying the /library/audio/plug-ins/vst folder, though the plugin in question has not disappeared from my effects library. It began misbehaving when I updated to the latest OSX. Upon updating, the GUI for the plugin stopped functioning and these errors began occurring. I'm not certain whether or not it is the plugin or Studio One itself misbehaving with the new OSX.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

The 32-Bit version of Studio One will only operate in 3.25GB of Memory regardless of how much memory you have installed in your system. If you run a lot of plug-ins, the system may just run out of memory which would explain the situation you have.

Set your Studio One application to run in 64-Bit instead. Of course you'll need to make sure your plug-ins are 64-bit capable as well.

The performance issues should subside.
