This is something that is very convenient to have when punching in like in other DAW's.  When you select your punch in area, this is when the recording will start, and you will not hear the previous take.  The is good.  However, it would be nice to adjust an amount of pre roll and post roll for the punch in to record media.  During the pre and post roll sections, the original take is heard, yet recording is taking place - it only shows it in the punch selection area.  The reason this is good is because sometimes you need to extend your new punch in a little left or right to get a good sounding crossfade.  Currently, you can only crossfade "into" the new punch-in from the outside with the previous media.  There is technically nothing wrong with the current system, however an option for this might be nice.  Perhaps it's just me who enjoys this in other workstations.

EDIT:  I see now that there is a global option for pre recording input in seconds.  However, could we have a post record somehow for punch in's as well?  This is a function in my previous DAW's, where as S1 seems more unforgiving with punches.
