OMG! I am having the same problem. I am going through a tutorial call Home Recording Made Easy and I got to the section where we start to use the virtual guitar amps. I am getting a popping in the background. Sounds almost like a camp fire does.

Can anyone help us out?

This can be caused by a 32bit plugin inside a 64bit version of studio one, are you using a 64bit version of studio one? if not go to options and change the buffer size to a higher value. Hope this helps

I had a similar problem but it still now sorted.......so far. Whenever I turned on studio one 3 professional I would get popping and stuttering. I noticed I also got it when playing through guitar rig so it wasn't studio one. It disappeared when I played through the laptop speakers so it wasn't my system. The only other think I could think of was the interface (presonus 22vsl).  It wasn't getting enough power. In studio one my cpu was spiking even when there was nothing loaded up. The solution which has worked so far was to buy a powered usb hub. I got one for £14 . I didn't think it would make as much difference as it has.  No popping sound and no latency.  Hope this helps. It did for me.

I had this problem recently when trying the Arturia Analog Lab Lite VST for the first time. I had random intermittent crackling and popping whenever I played one of the virtual keyboards either on screen or via my midi'd Yahama CP50. I increased the block size by a factor of 2 from 64 samples to 128 samples under S1's Audio Setup/Audio Devices. Seems to have solved the problem.
