Question

I have an RML16. Today I took it out of its box to test it, but it only gives me red light. I do not have a computer with a firewire port, but since I just want to mix it live, download only "UC surface" and tried to make it run but always RED LIGHT.
When you just bought the mixer, do you need to download capture and studio one? I can not just download uc surface and use it as normal mixer?

A red light means the mixer has no connection to a network, so it can not be controlled via UC Surface. The easiest set-up is the mixer, a router (connected via CAT5-cable) and an iPad. You find a lot of information about all this in your PreSonus account and on the download page (http://www.presonus.com/support/downloads/StudioLive-RML16AI). You don't need to download Capture or Studio One. UC Surface is the "software" for the mixer.
