GIT or SVN Integration

Studio One 3 should integrate a source control solution like GIT so that users can collaborate on recording projects and synchronize their project files and audio across the internet, much the same way teams of software developers collaborate when building software applications. Not only would it encourage collaborative recording projects around the world by leveraging the internet, but would also make possible a system for keeping version history backups that would let a user recover tracks and projects that are lost (computer meltdown) or damaged (file corruption or accidental deletions). This seems like it should become a standard option in modern DAW systems and the recording software industry just hasn't caught up to the available technology. Software is built using this as a fundamental necessity for collaboration and the preservation of the invested effort, so why not make it a tool for the users of software as well, who are also collaborating and investing their effort into a product? There could be a significant ROI if the feature was sold as an add-on paired with a subscription service offered for the hosted repositories (think paid GitHub for artists). I've yet to see a mature DAW like Studio One that is offering this as a feature, though I may have missed it in my research. I believe that adding this could be a great move. Even users that aren't collaborating with others would see the value in a virtually hands-free, synchronized, online version tracking/backup solution. I'm kind of surprised that there isn't a bigger demand for it in the community, but then again, source control is a tool used primarily by software developers at this point, so the populous isn't necessarily aware of the technology. In the software development world, an add-on like this is commonly built by a 3rd party (much-like VST plugins add extended audio processing capabilities), but there does not seem to be an open API available for 3rd party developers to integrate this for Studio One 3.
